Be Kind

ungrand
a simpleness

a thing we teach to kids
yet in adulthood,
remissed

plain concepts
hard to execute,
when wrapped in selfish flesh

hero
the one who holds
this bold,
under pressures

refusing to let the world
rob
gestures

small
filled with explosive love

a tinny act
capable
of slamming shut hell’s door

Holly Father,
teach us all,
to pour out more

Truth

Not perception,
not reaction,
but what is.

Under veils,
under paint,
chip it off to reveal

something feared.
Revered.
Held at arm’s length.

Don’t look too close
one might choke,
if unready to face.

Still it waits.
Can’t be erased,
for it still is.
